How to Bleed the Brakes on a Four Wheeler

- Clear tubing
- Brake fluid
- Clean cloth
- Bottle or container to collect brake fluid
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Find a level surface to park your ATV and engage the parking brake. Ensure the vehicle is secure before starting the brake bleeding process.
- Locate the brake bleeder valve on each wheel. It is usually located on the brake caliper or wheel cylinder.
- Start with the brake furthest from the master cylinder. In most cases, this will be the rear brake.
- Using a wrench, loosen the brake bleeder valve. Attach one end of the clear tubing to the valve and the other end into a container to collect the brake fluid.
- Have a helper sit on the four wheeler and slowly pump the brake pedal a few times, then hold it down firmly.
- While the brake pedal is held down, open the brake bleeder valve. You will see brake fluid and air bubbles flowing through the tubing into the container.
- Close the valve before the brake pedal is released by your helper. Repeat this process until you see a steady stream of brake fluid without any air bubbles.
- Move on to the next brake furthest from the master cylinder and repeat steps 4-7. Continue this process until all four brakes have been bled.
- Once all the brakes have been bled, check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder and top it up if necessary.
- Double-check that all bleeder valves are tightly closed and remove the clear tubing.
- Wipe away any spilled brake fluid using a clean cloth.
- Test the brakes by slowly applying pressure to the brake pedal. Ensure it feels firm and responsive.
